Acts of Faith: Daily Meditations for People of Color, 25th Anniversary Edition, by Iyanla Vanzant (2018, 1st edition 1993). I remember when Acts of Faith first came out. A little purple and white paperback that I devoured until it was raggedy. It was chockfull of inspiration. And the 25th anniversary edition was just the right inspiration I needed to finishing my memoir, Black Power Black Lawyer: My Audacious Quest for Justice. Medasi (thank you) Iyanla. Borrowing from one of your daily inspirational messages, “If you will commit to faithfully reading one page of this book every day for a year, you will experience a shift in your consciousness that can change your life.” Well, to be honest, I did not live up to that guidance, but I never forgot one of the affirmations I read - “I plant positive seeds in the fertile soil of my mind.” And the seeds that I planted have allowed a vision that is unfolding before my eyes – the manifestation of my memoir!
