Ready for Revolution: The Life and Struggles of Stokely Carmichael (Kwame Ture), by Stokely Carmichael with Ekwueme Michael Thelwell (2003). Although the title of my upcoming memoir includes the phase he made popular, Black Power, I must admit, I have not yet read his masterpiece memoir, although it has graced my bookcase for quite some time. Wish his book had been out when I was in college, and had the benefit of a class devoted to it. Maybe it’s one of the books I’ll snuggle up to during the pendency of the country’s shutdown.
